Ep. 168 - Anna Koppel - Boom, Full Circle

Anna Koppel of AfterBuzz TV is our guest this week. What’s the value and purpose of recap culture? Are there shows that probably don’t warrant a recap? Letterman ended his late night show - three non fans discuss. Why do we love watching disaster films? Weddings have gotten out of control, Will calls out these hijackers for what they are. Every episode of the podcast is a Japanese “crying room."

Ep. 167 - Sam Zia - Hate the Game

Sam Zia returns to the show, again.  On Playboy Radio’s “The Couch,” Sam - a licensed sex therapist - and two lovely (far lovelier than him) co-hosts spend an hour getting to know and talking through the sexual and relationship issues of one lucky guest. He attempts to counsel us, results are varied. Mad Men ended, we unpack the final suitcase. The report on “Deflategate” was released, we discuss those cheating cheaters the New England Patriots. One of Will’s favorite films of the decade, “Zero Dark Thirty” might be a film based atop a palace of lies. Manatees have a better sex life than any of us - lucky sea cows.

Ep. 165 - Jim D'Amato - Special Victim Artists

Jim D’Amato is a New Tork based artist whose works straddle the line between the sinuously organic and the geometrically artificial. He’s also our guest this week. We talk art. It gets heady. Also, he’s our first phone-in guest in over a year. Technology FTW. May weather and Pacquiao has their historic “Fight of the Century,” and everybody lost. Pacquiao’s name has way too many vowels. You don’t realize it until you type it out. Is there a pop culture figure you admire who, if they criticized your work, it would sting more than if it came from someone else? Prom invites are getting out of hand. Slow your rolls, High Schoolers, it’s all downhill from here. Frozen pizza thieves are on the loose in Alaska! Hide yo’ wife! Hide yo’ kids! Hide yo’ pizza!

Ep. 164 - Jennifer Lieberman - Little Dorritt

Jennifer Lieberman is a busy person. This writer/actress/director has a book of erotic poetry, an 80’s inspired musical web series, a one woman show about her sexual awakening in NYC, and co-stars on Tommy Wiseau’s Hulu series, Neighbors. So yah, the interview is long. Do late night talk shows even matter anymore, or is it okay that they’ve devolved into glorified talent competitions? Jeremy Renner got himself into a little trouble at an Avengers press junket, we discuss. Ben Affleck owned slaves or something like that, we didn’t read the whole article, so, for the sake of brevity, let’s just say that Ben Affleck ABSOLUTELY owned (and owns) slaves. The Bunny Ranch is looking to hire quality control specialists, and Will needs a new job, just saying.
