Catheryn Brockett, author of “The Dysfunctional Family Funbook” and the blog “Cancercation” joins us to talk about, what else, dysfunctional families and cancer. Both topics, we are told, are hilarious. Also, she brought pumpkin pie, whipped cream and a turkey hat! Why do feminists hate Lily Allen? We argue if there are any true artists with any integrity left, and how do we find someone who will pay us to sell out? Another A-List actor has a worthless kid who wants to be a rapper. The fast food pork sandwich war is upon us! Listen at the top of the show for a very, very important announcement. Westcast is Coming!

Eric Schwartz, musical humorist and singular talent is our guest this week. Playing both straight man and funny man, he breaks down the process of how you write songs that hit you in both the heart and the head. Later on in the show we listen to “Codependent Sonata,” one of the tracks off his latest album. Did we mention that his music is hysterical? Because it is. Gaga for Gaga. Hungry for Hunger. Movember for morons. Why does country music drive people to suicide? All that and much much more on this week’s episode. Listen, or be forever unclean.

Samson Shulman, President and Founder of the record label & management firm 5am Collective joins us along with his dog Lola. He tells us how the son of a musical prodigy left law school and instead came to Los Angeles to discover and develop musical talent. What makes a talented musician these days and is there any money left in the business? Join us as we delve into the nuts and bolts of the industry. The NFL is awful, but none more so than a Mr Richard Incognito. Matthew McConaughey is not awful - have we entered a Golden Age? Why can’t adults act like grown ups when watching sex scenes in movies? Crypto-Zoology is killing people!!

Heidi Basch-Harod, the executive director of the non profit organization, Women's Voices Now, brings a much needed dose of philanthropy and selflessness to the show. Their mission is to empower women living in Muslim countries, helping them to amplify their rights and means of expression. Pursuant to this goal, we talk about their upcoming global film festive - Women Bought and Sold: Voices United Against the Violence. Shifting gears we discuss the EXACT opposite: Thor! Marvel's Agent's of SHIELD! OJ Simpson! Time Travel! Baby Pandas! Speaking of amplifying voices, we are aware of the inconsistent audio quality - the guilty parties have been reprimanded. :-(
